Jan Verwoert

Jan Verwoert asked the question why are conceptual artists painting again? Because they think it’s a good idea. Check out his talk at the Glasgow School of Art in 2010.

The canvas becomes a space for thinking and looking, doing away with heroic fictions and moments, questions and answers, and deal with the ‘domestic dust’.

The emergence of a structure testifies that at the beginning there was none.

An interesting talk here about conceptual artists returning to painting and why? This reaffirms my own belief that painting is neither dead nor easy, but is really one of mankinds greatest means of achieving ‘art.’ I hope you enjoy.
